Eating Disorders & Problematic Eating Behaviours

When food, your body and the need for control take up too much space

Problematic eating is rarely just about the food. Behind it there are often patterns of control, guilt, shame, stress, anxiety or self-criticism. For some, it shows up as binge eating or bulimic behaviours. For others, it's more about emotional eating, body fixation, over-exercising or a constant attempt to "get it together".

With me, you get support in understanding what's driving your patterns – and how you can start changing them, one step at a time.

Body fixation and a strong preoccupation with appearance

If you spend a lot of time checking yourself in the mirror, comparing yourself to others, or trying to hide things you feel are "wrong" with your body, it can affect your everyday life, your self-worth and your relationships.

We work together to understand what triggers the need for control – and how you can begin to face your body with less fear, shame and self-criticism.

Does this sound like you?

It can be hard to see on your own when your relationship with food, your body or exercise has started to take up too much space. It doesn't have to be visible on the outside, and you don't need a diagnosis to ask for support

Do any of these feel familiar?

  • You eat alone and experience a loss of control

  • You swing between controlling yourself tightly and losing control completely

  • You numb feelings like stress, tiredness or emptiness with food

  • You feel guilt and shame after eating

  • You compensate through fasting, exercise or purging

  • You have strict rules around food, weight and exercise

  • You constantly think about what you are and aren't allowed to eat

  • You avoid social situations because of food or your body

  • You frequently check your body in the mirror, on the scale or through your clothes

  • Your healthy habits have become demanding and compulsive

If you recognise yourself in any of this, it doesn't mean something is "wrong" with you. It means you've got stuck in patterns that can be understood, broken and changed – step by step.

How I Can Help You

I have chosen to specialize in those areas where mental and physical health intersect—a space where finding balance can be particularly challenging

  • Binge eating disorder – Eating large amounts of food in a short time, followed by intense guilt and shame.

  • Bulimia – Managing binge eating through compensatory behaviours.

  • Emotional eating – When food becomes the primary strategy to numb stress, anxiety or emptiness.

  • Body fixation & orthorexia – When the pursuit of the "perfect" body or "clean" food has become a trap.

  • Overeating & weight issues with behavioural patterns – We focus on the underlying causes and sustainable lifestyle changes rather than quick fixes. I also support you if you're on weight loss medication, to help you get the best possible results and move forward.

Good to Know

I work with CBT-based support, coaching and behaviour change online. This is the right fit for you if you want to work with emotional eating, binge eating, body fixation, overeating, self-sabotage, stress or sustainable lifestyle change. If you feel stuck in patterns around food, body and weight – you've come to the right place. You don't need a diagnosis to ask for help.

I don't work with anorexia or acute psychiatric conditions. If that's where you are, I'll help guide you towards the right kind of care or support.

How we work together

The support is tailored to your situation, your patterns and how much guidance you need along the way. We work at a pace that allows us to create structure, understand how the problems have developed and build a solid, safe foundation for lasting change.

You'll gain knowledge about how thoughts, feelings and behaviours interact, as well as support in creating more stability around meals, routines and everyday life. Between sessions, you'll work with exercises and assignments that help you put change into practice – things like journalling, reflection, meal structure, mindfulness and acceptance.

Weight Management & Sustainable Weight Loss

What does sustainable weight loss actually mean?

More than just calories

Have you tried diets, strict training plans and quick fixes – only to fall back into old patterns? You might feel super motivated at the start. That's rarely where things fall apart. It's later – when the initial excitement fades, stress creeps in and life gets in the way – that you need a plan that truly carries you forward.

Living with excess weight is rarely about a lack of willpower or not knowing what you "should" eat. It's a complex interplay of genetics, biology, ingrained behaviours and the modern world we live in.

To create change that actually lasts, we need to look at the whole picture: why you eat the way you do, and how we can rewire the patterns that are keeping you stuck at a weight that doesn't feel right for you.

Does this sound like you?

This isn't a quick fix or a path to fast results in 30 days. This is for you if you're tired of short-term diets, strict rules and starting over again and again.

Here we don't just focus on the number on the scale, but on the patterns behind it: the thoughts, the feelings, the habits, the stress, the self-criticism and the everyday realities that shape how you eat, move and take care of yourself.

Do any of these feel familiar?

  • You eat emotionally when you're stressed, tired or anxious

  • You swing between strict control and losing it completely

  • You give up easily at the first setback

  • You've tried every diet without finding anything that lasts

  • You eat on autopilot and have lost touch with hunger signals

  • You feel guilt and shame around food or your body

  • You constantly think about food or what the scale says

  • You want to find joy in eating without pressure, anxiety or rules

  • You want to reach your goal weight without banning foods or going to extremes

If you recognise yourself here, it's not about lacking willpower or discipline. It's often about patterns that have repeated themselves for a long time – and that need to be understood before they can truly change.

Support Alongside Medical Weight Treatment and weight loss surgery

Are you using weight loss medication or have you had weight loss surgery?

Many people are helped by medication or surgery, but old patterns – like stress eating and self-criticism – often remain even after medical treatment. I support you in everyday life and beyond.

Here we focus on lifestyle: nutrition, movement, behaviours and mental strategies – to create a sustainable everyday life that works in the long run.

Medical questions and complications are always handled by your doctor or clinic.

How we work together

The Path to a Lighter Everyday—Inside and Out

In my work with weight management, I combine CBT-based tools, coaching, nutrition, movement and behaviour change. The focus is on sustainable habits, self-understanding and a more workable way to navigate everyday life. The setup is tailored to your situation, your patterns and how much support you need along the way.

Unlike quick weight loss solutions, we focus on behaviour change, self-compassion and identity. We shift the focus from restriction to understanding how your body and mind work together.

  • The brain's reward system – We work with triggers, cravings, stress, self-criticism and all-or-nothing thinking. We look at what sets things off and practise strategies other than food when emotions or impulses take over.

  • How nutrition affects your gut and brain – No extreme rules. We look at meal rhythm, nourishment, satiety, energy and how food functions in your everyday life. The focus is on a sustainable approach, not extremes.

  • Sustainable movement – This isn't about punishing hours of training, but about finding a level of activity that strengthens your body and supports your weight loss without creating resistance – while preserving muscle mass.

  • Tools for everyday life – You get practical exercises to handle cravings, regulate your emotions and build new, sustainable habits that don't require constant willpower.

Stress, Anxiety, and Depression

Stress, Worry, Anxiety & Low Mood

You don't need to have issues with food or weight to reach out to me.

I also work with stress, worry, anxiety, low mood and depressive patterns that affect everyday life, relationships, energy levels, sleep, motivation or your ability to take care of yourself.

You don't need to know exactly what started it all. We begin from wherever you are right now.

How do these connect: worry, stress, depression and sleep problems?

These four are often linked in a cycle. Stress is the body's response to demands – but without recovery, it becomes chronic. Worry and anxiety are often a fear of the future or an uncertainty that keeps the body on high alert. If this goes on for too long, it can lead to low mood or depression, where the spark in life slowly goes out.

What all of these have in common is that they almost always disrupt sleep. Without good sleep, we lose our cognitive ability and resilience – which makes the stress and worry feel even stronger the next day.

How I can support you

Do any of these feel familiar?

  • You feel stressed, pressured or overwhelmed

  • You get stuck in worry, rumination or catastrophic thinking

  • You experience anxiety or intense physical stress reactions

  • You feel low, flat or have lost your motivation

  • You find it hard to recover or wind down

  • You're sleeping poorly or waking up with anxiety in your body

  • You struggle to set boundaries or say no

  • You're self-critical and feel like you're never doing enough

  • You lose your routines around food, sleep, movement or structure when you're not doing well

"You are not your thoughts or your behaviours – you are the one who can choose a new path."

How we work together

We map your patterns: what triggers stress, worry or low mood, how it affects your body and which behaviours are keeping you stuck.

The work may include CBT-based tools, reflection, behaviour change, recovery strategies, boundary setting, sleep strategies, everyday structure and practical exercises between sessions.

If food, your body, exercise or control turn out to be part of the same pattern, we can work on those too. But you don't need to have any issues with eating to ask for support.

When food and wellbeing are connected

Stress, worry, anxiety and low mood often affect the body and everyday life. For some, this shows up as sleep problems, tiredness, irritability or difficulty getting started. For others, it also affects eating, cravings, appetite, exercise, control or self-criticism.

Sometimes people seek support for stress or anxiety, and then discover along the way that eating behaviours, body control or performance pressure are part of the same pattern.

When that happens, we can work with the whole picture – both the wellbeing, the behaviours and the everyday patterns that are keeping the problem alive.
