About Linda Edengren

I help you create lasting change – without needing to perform or be perfect

Many of the people who find their way to me are already carrying a lot of shame, self-criticism and the exhausting feeling of having tried again and again. When you're with me, you don't need to be "good enough", have everything under control or know exactly where to start. I work with warmth, clarity and without judgement. Together we explore what's keeping you stuck, which patterns keep coming back and what you need to create a change that feels possible, safe and sustainable in everyday life.

About me

I'm a CBT therapist, nutritional therapist and personal trainer with over 20 years of experience working with nutrition, exercise, behaviour change, eating behaviours, stress, performance and sustainable lifestyle change.

My background in elite sport and strength training – combined with my own personal experience of eating disorders – has shaped the way I work. I know how easy it is to get trapped in control, self-criticism, rules and a constant battle with your body, even when everything on the outside looks "healthy".

In my work, I combine CBT-based tools, ACT, coaching, nutrition, movement and behaviour change to help you create change that feels safe, realistic and truly sustainable in everyday life.

My experience

My own journey

My path into this work began in sport. I played badminton at national team level, and from the outside everything looked strong and disciplined. But behind the performance, the balance between food, training and recovery had quietly started to break down. One day I fainted during a match – and it turned out to be due to undernourishment. That was my wake-up call. I had developed eating disorders and overtraining without fully realising it.

When my body finally said enough, it became a real turning point. I experienced first-hand how easily something that looks healthy and controlled on the outside can become deeply unsustainable on the inside.

That experience changed the way I see health completely. I came to understand that food, body, performance and control are often about so much more than willpower and discipline. They're also about self-criticism, shame, fear, stress and the need to feel in control.

That journey led me to studies in nutrition, mental training, strength training and CBT. My background in elite sport, strength sport and bodybuilding has given me a deep understanding of how easily health can slide into rigid rules, over-control and body fixation.

Experience that has shaped my work

For more than 20 years I've worked with people in very different life situations – athletes, individuals, weight management groups and people who have struggled with emotional eating, binge eating, bulimic behaviours, night eating, overeating, stress, worry, anxiety and self-sabotage.

I've also worked with many people who are very experienced with exercise – where what began as health and discipline gradually became governed by rules, control, over-training and a fear of losing their grip.

What I've learned is that problems can look very different on the surface, but often share so much underneath: shame, stress, self-criticism, hard demands and a feeling of letting yourself down over and over again.

That's why I don't work with finger-wagging, perfect plans or quick fixes. I work with understanding the person behind the behaviour.

How I work today

Today I combine CBT-based conversations, ACT, coaching, nutrition, movement and behaviour change. I work with the whole person – not just what you eat, how you exercise or what the scale says.

We look at thoughts, feelings, rules, stress, relapse patterns and the situations where old behaviours take over.

That might mean breaking binge eating cycles, reducing emotional eating, managing the need for control, building a calmer relationship with food and your body, creating new routines – or finding a more sustainable path to weight loss.

My starting point is simple: you don't need to become perfect to feel better. Often what's needed isn't more pressure, but more understanding, clearer structure and a way of working that actually fits real life.

What matters to me most in our work together

I want you to feel safe, seen and genuinely heard.

Many people who seek support around food, body, weight, stress or eating behaviours are already carrying a heavy load of shame and self-criticism. That's why it matters deeply to me to create a space that is warm, respectful and completely free of judgement.

I believe in clarity, but not in harshness. I believe in change, but not through pressure and the pursuit of perfection. Change so often begins with simply understanding why you do what you do.
